Abstract

A stent-graft, which nowadays contains NiTi components, is mostly used for healing an abdominal aortic aneurysm. This study analyzes the role of graft in the crush test of stent-graft which is used for endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm treatment. The results show that the dependence of the crush force to Young’s modulus of the graft is bi-linear. The thicker the graft is the higher is the crush resistance. The value of 20 MPa of the graft´s Young´s moduli can be supposed to be optimal for all thickness of the graft. When designing the stent-graft regarding the crush resistance, these results should be taken into account.
