Abstract

Since the last century, multiple access techniques are being used in wireless communication. Due to the various strengths of optical fiber, a new technique Optical Code Division Multiple Access (OCDMA) has gained popularity in the research field. In this technique, encoding and decoding of data is done in optical domain. The advantages and disadvantages of OCDMA are discussed in this paper. With the help of MATLAB software version 7.10, performance of OCDMA system with Zero Cross Correlation (ZCC) code is analyzed using theoretical approach. A comparison table is shown for the different codes. It is analyzed that ZCC code is preferred for next generation OCDMA systems.
