Abstract

Ultra wideband microstrip 180o phase shifter is introduced to the feedline of the Double Rhombus antenna. The phase shifter is a novel design of Microstrip to-Coplanar Waveguide (CPW)-to-Microstrip transition. The Double Rhombus antenna with the phase shifter is operating in a wide bandwidth from 5.7 to 18.6 GHz (106%), and provides stable endfire radiation patterns. In a modified two-element array configuration, this design provides wide usable bandwidth.
