Detection and Cancellation of Narrowband Interference in Ultra Wideband Communication Systems

Abstract

This paper proposes a narrowband interference detection and cancellation for UWB communication systems. The technique includes the detection of the presence of an interference using signal spectrogram and turning on a cancellation unit. This unit estimates and generates the interferer then eliminates it by subtracting to a delay version of the UWB signal. This mitigation technique provides a cancellation gain between 3dB to 5dB in a multipath environment with the presence of a single ODFM WLAN interferer.
