A reliable double-talk detector (DTD) is a necessary part in acoustic echo cancellation (AEC). This paper proposes a new DTD equipped with two auxiliary filters. Our DTD responds quickly to the occurrence of near-end speech, and the auxiliary filters give the AEC a better chance saving good estimate of echo path. Extensive simulations demonstrated that the proposed DTD performs very well during the period of doubletalk.
