Home telecare systems, digital signature, digital time stamping
This paper presents a schema for improving the security of the Home Telecare System (HTS) developed at the University of NSW [1]. HTS data is very confidential, as it contains data on the patients’ health and is used by medical practitioners to manage their patients’ health status. Hence, Home Telecare Systems must have a strong security system, otherwise data can be maliciously or by error modified or falsified. At present HTS data security is only based on standard cryptography. Data security and confidentiality can be greatly improved by introducing security tokens, digital signatures, and digital time stamping. These will be discussed in this paper.
