In order to enhance the performance of Mobile IPv6 in lo cal area scope, we propose a simple and scalable fast hand off scheme based on Cellular IP semisoft handoff. Our scheme tries to synchronize data streams of current and new paths during handoff by simply comparing RTTs of the two paths and delaying packet forwarding depending on the result of the comparison. By our simple synchro nization mechanism, the mobile host can continue its previ ous session without experiencing service disruption during handoff.
