Grid, multicast, and satellite
This paper is the sequel of a previous one defining GridSAT, that is, a general purpose powerful architecture that can use satellites as a communication medium for reliable large files distribution to multiple receivers in geographically dispersed grids. In particular, we propose here a specialization of GridSAT, describing middleware and protocols involved, highlighting security and efficiency, and discussing a useful scenario related to database replication as well. Therefore such an architecture represents a solution to some relevant data grid issues.
