Abstract

Soil resistivity value of tower grounding system in overhead power lines is an important parameter for calculating tower footing (touch) voltage. In this study, tower footing voltages occurring on power transmission line towers due to single-line short circuit faults are analysed. In the analysis the effects of a variety of soil resistivity values and mutual coupling at the different fault points are presented by MATLAB Simulink.
