Abstract

Studies on Web Accessibility for persons using any user agent (software or hardware) to understand and fully interact with a websites content are well known on static and primarily pure HTML-based websites. This paper addresses the issues in integrating W3C and Section 508 Web Accessibility guidelines into a large website which is dynamically generated using Java Servlet Technologies. These issues are discussed in the context of a Environmen tal (Meta)Data Dissemination Website. The paper high lights that the integration of web accessibility into the soft ware development of the website at the earliest stage yields the greatest return on accessibility provision.
