Abstract

The paper describes research on the possibility of applying novel academic approaches in model translations to the in dustrial challenge of automating Q Adaptor implementa tion for legacy telecommunications management systems. The methodology that has been chosen uses the industry standard languages UML and OCL for specifying the cor respondence between managed objects models. The speci fication of correspondence between the ETSI and proprietary routing management models of the exchanges system has been performed using the chosen methodology. Also a survey has been carried out, in order to choose an appropriate modelling tool from among current enterprise frameworks. As a result, it is clear that the current state of the development of academic methods and enterprise tools is sufficient for implementing computer-assisted legacy telecommunications management systems integration.
