Abstract

We develop an analytical model of rate adaptive Wireless LAN. Thereby, the access point can be substituted by an M/G/1/B queueing system. We first calculate the service time distribution of this queueing model. As the main per formance influencing parameters we identify the location of each user connected to the access point and determine the throughput that users achieve depending on their own and other users’ locations. Finally we verify our findings with simulations.
