Abstract

This paper discusses the course structure of a senior biomedical engineering design course as it has evolved over a period of 15 years. The requirement for course design tools, such as software packages, is discussed. A recent major influence on the course and its outcomes has been the implementation of studies involving assessment using concept maps and an ABET derived scoring sheet.
