Abstract

This paper describes an asynchronous distance learning system used in the department of Electronic Engineering, Queen Mary, University of London for the last two and a half years. The result of this system is a low maintenance distance delivery system that incorporates recorded lectures that give users a motivated and rich content learning environment. Results from past graduating students show that the system can be as effective as traditional face-to-face lecturing and that the majority of students and lecturers are in favor of the recording style.
