Abstract

Optimal scheduling of cement mills operations increases the revenues of the cement producer by reducing the energy bill and the amount of low grade cement produced. Manag ing the conveyor belts system allows to prioritize the filling of certain silos and to fulfill the transportation constraints, with a decrease of electricity and transportation costs. In this article an approach to production scheduling based on hybrid systems in the Mixed Logical Dynamical models formulation and a description of the rescheduling problem in a model predictive control framework are presented. The conveyor belts and silos management is formulated as a Mixed Integer Linear Problem.
