Abstract

In the design of diffractive optical elements, amplitude and phase recovery have been one of the important issues. Especially, the phase retrieval problem from intensity measurements has become a subject of extensive interest from both the fundamental and practical points of view. However, the direct measurement of phase is generally difficult. Many approaches have been applied and most of them are optimization techniques. Our focus is mainly on the phase retrieval issue through the iterative minimum mean-squared error (MMSE) for optical applications. This method has a capability to deal with diverse phase retrieval problems in the arbitrary linear transform system. In this research, it is applied in one example such as multiple-wavelength for a single channel in optical applications.
