Abstract

The virtual topology is overlaid on a physical topology and is typically obtained as a solution to a mixed integer lin ear program (MILP). This optimises performance measures like, for example, lightpath congestion on a physical link, traffic congestion on a lightpath, and average hops between a source destination pair in the network. It is observed that by optimising one measure, other measures move away from their optimal value. In this paper, we propose a mul tiobjective design for virtual topology which handles the trade off between performance measures.
