Abstract

Transmultiplexers provide many conversations over a single transmission line. An example of the 8-channel transmultiplexer is presented and some frequency properties are analyzed. The bilinear constraints on the coefficients of the digital filters must be satisfied to achieve a perfect reconstruction. The specific frequency properties of the transmultiplexed signal make it possible to apply the lossy compression methods effectively. The method used to compress signals involves a subband coding.
