Abstract

: An approach for modelling qualitative changes in a papermaking line is proposed. The objective is to determine how different types of services influence stability of paper machine wet end. To test the modelling approach, a simulator is created and data is generated by simulation. Different types of models are being studied and based on the results qualitative changes can be modelled accurately if the data can be divided into the periods on the basis of service delivered in a papermaking line. The results indicate that qualitative changes in the machine and blend chest area impact the most on process stability. The second significant factor regarding stability is service delivered in the broke system area.
