Abstract

The paper concerns a task and resource allocation in a complex of parallel operations described by a relational knowledge representation with unknown parameters. The unknown parameters are assumed to be values of uncertain variables characterized by an expert in the form of certainty distributions. The purpose of the paper is to present a quality analysis of the decision (control) system in which the decisions concerning the allocation are based on the uncertain knowledge described by the uncertain variables. A short description of the uncertain variables and their application to decision problems under uncertainty is given. The formulation and solution of the allocation problem for parallel operations is presented. The quality of decisions based on the expert's knowledge is described and discussed. Two simple examples illustrate the presented approach.
