Analog Filter Design, Transfer Function, Ladder Network
Realization possibilities of the rational third-order transfer functions are discussed. For this purpose, the ladder network with controlled voltage source in any shunt branch is used. The voltage source is controlled by shunt branch voltage. The transfer functions are expressed with cumulants. Generally, two types of transfer functions can be realized. The first type deals with the controlled voltage source with controlling voltage placed in shunt branch behind source. In that case, the transfer function contains only poles. The second type, which is discussed here, has the controlled voltage source with controlling voltage in shunt branch before source. Now, the transfer function has zeroes and poles. The realization of the rational third-order transfer function is given on example.
