Abstract

This contribution describes the implementation of the HVXC vocoder fixed rate mode in 2 kbit/s on 16 bit fixed-point OakDSPCore Digital Signal Processor. The implementation we discuss is completely based on a 16 bit fixed-point representation and we present the requirements of the encoder/decoder in terms of computational load for real time operation with a view to applying the implemented version to mobile applications.
