Neural Network Models, X-Ray Diffraction, Gastrointestinal System
A neural network is used as a system identifier in determining the various factors affecting drug parameters, including pH dependence of dissolution, permeability, transport of drug material through the gastrointestinal system, and absorption of the drug through the intestinal wall into the portal vein. This method replaces many hours of testing of individual compounds in the laboratory. Inherent and important in this system is the modeling of the input compounds to the neural network and the values of output (absorption through the intestinal wall, etc.).
