Abstract

Intrusion detection systems (IDS) are used to monitor com puters, networks, and computer applications with the ob jective of detecting unauthorized usage. Many approaches have been used to design and build a foolproof IDSs. In this paper, an overview of the different computational in telligence approaches used in IDSs is presented. These approaches use combinations of techniques from artificial neural networks, fuzzy systems, genetic algorithms.
