Abstract

In the era of knowledge economy, corporate learning is an impor- tant component of a company’s strategic management to build its competitive power and to develop and retain its employees. As the demand for corporate learning is growing, there is a need to develop suitable courseware. However, there are differences between adult learners and school learners. A major difference is that corporate learners are highly diversified in their backgrounds. Very often, they would prefer different learning sequences according to their needs and past experience. In this paper, the discovery of effective learning paths for corporate learners is proposed. Frequent sequences are extracted from previous successful learner logs and can be used to build a learning flow model in which the relationships between con- tent materials are formulated by the use of conditional probability. An example of how to capture user navigation history and perform the discovery process are described also.
