The digital exhibition mode of museums has gained significant importance with the advancement of information technology, yet challenges persist in effectively communicating visual content and optimising the exhibition experience. Traditional methods often fail to address the nuances of visual communication, leading to suboptimal visitor engagement and a lack of personalised interaction. Thus, the research proposes a fuzzy-augmented interactive framework for museum digital exhibitions (FuzzAIF-MDE) that combines fuzzy logic and augmented reality (AR) to enhance visitor engagement through visual communication by improving experiences and optimising digital exhibition layouts. The fuzzy rule-based system dynamically adapts content based on real-time visitor feedback as imprecise inputs and exhibition layout conditions. AR delivers immersive and responsive digital museum exhibitions to visitor engagement levels. Fuzzy logic allows for the adaptive modification of visual and interactive components by reducing the impact of visitor reactions’ inherent uncertainty and variability. The continued interest and usefulness of digital exhibits to visitors are guaranteed by this proposed FuzzAIF-MDE method. By delivering engaging and interactive graphics, AR technologies elevate the experience. Lighting type, glare, texture, and comfort level are some of the visual quality characteristics the framework considers using particular fuzzy set definitions and analysed using the fuzzy inference technique. Calculating the visual comfort index (VCI) with AR content adaptation measure is one way to measure how pleasant and valuable the exhibit spaces are. This groundbreaking paradigm shows excellent promise for digital museum exhibitions, providing visitors with a more engaging, interactive manner, and adaptive experience.
