Abstract

Being the first two giant friction welding machines in China at present, which connect the same or different kinds of metals of electrolytic aluminium prebaked anode conductor by generating heat of relative friction, could improve welding strength while reducing energy and human labour consumption. Two servo controllers, produced by Siemens Company and integrated with each sound control system, are used in high-performance welding machines to satisfy the demands of precise position and speed controlling criteria for each process technology. Creative work is embodied in the following points: 1◦ error limit of automatic phase control of welding aluminium guide rod and cast steel claw within five seconds, 1 mm error limit of working accuracy of position control of clamp trolley, flexible switching of different speeds abided with scheduled friction plan under the automatic mode, multiple selecting modes of processing conditions. Different engineering applications of servo methods are demonstrated by comparing and exerting their promising prospects in the industry.
