Abstract

This note addresses the design of a linear matrix inequality (LMI)- based dynamic output feedback controller for obtaining larger regions of stability for linear systems that are subject to input saturation. Based on the Lyapunov stability tool, a bi-linear stabilization criterion is proposed, which can be changed into the LMI criterion based on congruent transformation. The proposed method provides conditions to simultaneously design the dynamic output feedback controller and its anti-windup (AW) compensator. A method that maximizes an estimate of the basin of attraction of the closed-loop system is also proposed. Different from the existing research results, this method is simple and systematic, it can provide two kinds of AW compensator. The results of numerical examples, which can be compared with other related papers, prove that this method is feasible and effective.
