Abstract

To reveal the influence of frequency variation on material mass of participating in vibration of a coke dry quenching vibrating feeder, the discrete element method is used to simulate the material mass being vibrated of the actual coke dry quenching vibrating feeder and discuss the changes of the material mass of participating in vibration of the vibrating feeder as variable frequency in this article. The simulation results show that the amplitude is 3.5 mm, when feeding rate is 185 t/h. The material mass of participating in vibration changes between 800 and 1,370 kg when the frequency changes from 25 to 35 Hz. The above-mentioned work done provides the theoretical basis for an accurate determination of motor power and smooth realization of frequency conversion technology of a vibrating feeder. EDEM is useful software to simulate particle motion. It can be used in the areas of agriculture, medical treatment, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering and so on.
