Abstract

This work is focused on the voltage control of a bidirectional dual active bridge (DAB) in boost mode. A small-scale laboratory test bench of 50 W bidirectional DAB is designed, and DSP-based implementation of single-phase shift (SPS) control using adaptive proportional integral (PI) technique is performed. The PI controller is tuned online using Hebbian (Hebb) algorithm. A battery bank of 24 V capacity is installed at the high voltage bridge of the converter. Both adaptive and fixed PI controllers are implemented over TI Launchpad 320F379D using rapid prototyping technique from MATLAB/Simulink environment. The controllers are tested using variable voltage reference and variable source command and the results are verified experimentally.
