Abstract

This paper presents a novel sliding-mode control strategy for maximum power point tracking of photovoltaic systems comprising a solar cell and a switched-mode DC–DC converter. The method adopts a fuzzy-logic reaching law of which the inputs are the sliding function and its forward difference by GM(1,1) grey prediction. Control design and analysis are performed on the averaged dynamics, whereas simulation of both the averaged and switching models shows improved convergence speed over linear reaching laws.
