Abstract

Watersoluble syndiotactic poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) prepared by bulk-copolymerization of vinyl acetate (VAc) and vinyl pivalate (VPi) using 2,2'-azobis(2,4-dimethyl valeronitrile) (ADMVN) was used for obtaining perfectly spherical shaped and separated PVA nanoparticles. Atactic PVA (a-PVA) nanoparticles have showed limitations as the drug delivery material due to the poor persistence and aggregation property of a-PVA. The s PVA gel nanoparticles containing drugs prepared by homogenization using water-in-oil (W/O) emulsion system are expected as an ideal drug delivery material with better efficacy and fewer side-effects.
