Abstract

In this paper, we describe our Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) environment for Bilingual Deaf Education (BDE). Our CSCL environment was designed (1) to provide better opportunities for deaf children to learn, (2) to create a collaborative learning space for deaf children to polish their communication skill, and (3) to help teachers to improve their teaching approaches and class managements by integrating their multi-level perspectives. The result of our test run shows that it took less than half an hour for the Deaf teachers to understand how to use our CSCL environment and that the Deaf Community favorably accepted it.
