Abstract

The condition of heavy-haul railway tracks significantly affects vehicle operation safety, the performance of the vehicle’s electromechanical system, and the overall control of transportation systems. Therefore, accurately and reasonably assessing track conditions is crucial for enhancing the safety and efficiency of the transportation system. However, due to the complexity and diversity of track components, a single evaluation method may not comprehensively assess the quality of heavy-haul railway tracks. This paper proposes a comprehensive assessment method for heavy- haul locomotive railway transportation systems to address this issue. First, considering differences and correlations among various indicators, comprehensive weights are assigned to each indicator using the analytic hierarchy process and CRITIC method, resulting in comprehensive weighting for the criterion layer. Second, selected evaluation indicators and scoring standards classify track quality into four levels. Additionally, a thorough assessment is performed by the relative closeness degree obtained from improved proximity to the ideal distance solution method. The findings of this study demonstrate that the evaluation model can effectively assess heavy- haul railway track conditions and provide a valuable reference for the control of railway locomotive electromechanical and transportation systems.
