High pressure and small flow, compressor, bend-torsion coupling, rotordynamics
In this study, an analysis of rotor dynamics is performed on a centrifugal high-pressure small-flow gear air compressor to investigate its critical speed and mode shape under the coupled bending and torsion state. The high-pressure small-flow gear compressor adopts a three-axis helical gear system for transmission. A lumped mass method is applied to establish the model, and the overall transfer matrix method is employed. MATLAB software programming is used to solve the equations, obtaining the critical speed and mode shape of the three rotors under the bending-torsion coupling condition. The results indicate that the rated speed of the compressor rotor system is far from the critical speeds at the 10th and 11th orders. During startup, it is recommended to quickly pass the initial critical speeds to prevent the rotor from experiencing lateral vibrations. The compressor rotor system, under the existing design parameters, can operate safely and smoothly.
