DEVELOPMENT OF INTELLIGENT SEWING EQUIPMENT BASED ON THE COLLABORATION OF MACHINE VISION AND ROBOT ARM

Abstract

In view of the problems, such as poor manual alignment accuracy and irregular stitching during the fabric sewing process, combined with machine vision, industrial robots, and sewing machine technology, intelligent sewing equipment from feeding to sewing and unloading is designed and implemented. First, the key technologies of the sewing equipment, such as hand-eye calibration technology for vision and robotic arm, absolute positioning kinematic parameter error compensation technology for robotic arm, fabric contour extraction and stitching planning technology, and speed synchronisation between the robotic arm and sewing machine are studied. Then, the speciļ¬c intelligent sewing equipment for double-layer fabrics is introduced. Finally, the case analysis results indicate that the combination of several technologies can improve the material alignment accuracy and consistency of sewing quality of the sewing equipment, reducing labour demand.
