Abstract

In the field test of the electric drive system of a high-power AC– DC–AC metallurgical rolling mill, the saturation problem of the rectifier transformer appeared. In order to save research costs and provide a convenient test environment for the research of the electric drive system of the metallurgical rolling mill, it is necessary to build a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation test system. Among them, the simulation model of the rectifier transformer is the key to the test system. The rectifier transformer has a series structure of primary winding and has the function of phase-shifting and harmonic-elimination. In order to establish the simulation model of the rectifier transformer, this article first analyses the structure of the transformer and establishes the ideal mathematical model of the transformer and the mathematical model of the excitation circuit, respectively. After verifying the correctness of the mathematical model theoretically, the simulation model of the transformer is established. Finally, the simulation model is applied to the HIL simulation test system. And through the HIL simulation experiment, the transformer saturation problem in the field test is reproduced, which will effectively help the optimisation of the electric drive system of the metallurgical rolling mill.
