Abstract

With the initiation and progress of DNA computing research which uses DNA as information carrier and uses modern biology as measure of implementation, cryptography and DNA molecular biology are combined together. The widely proposed DNA based algorithms are using recombinant DNA technologies. Complex biological experiment requirement and operation make this type of DNA cryptography costly and inefficient to be used in practical applications. We propose a new encryption scheme based on DNA nanotechnology. Digital data is encoded in DNA scissor, a DNA Nano structure. Opening or closing of the DNA scissors through DNA self-assembly technology provides the spontaneous formation of the message. And gel electrophoresis separating enables rapid information read out.
