Abstract

Control of the Mean Arterial Blood Pressure is one of the very essential activities involved in various medical procedures. A biological system is one of the highly perturbed systems involving various linear as well as non-linear disturbances. Therefore, it is very important to have an efficient and precise control algorithm for MABP regulation. It is also very important that the control strategy implemented should be robust towards these different kinds of disturbances. Fuzzy logic is known to be an important and efficient control technique in the field of artificial intelligence. It has the capability to handle real world problems in a very efficient manner. Hence, in this paper an attempt has been made to design a fuzzy logic PID controller for the MABP regulation. The performance of the controller is evaluated using the various integral error criterions and further, the comparison has been made with the existing controllers.
