Well design, Sucker-rod pumping, Directional wells
Serial and parallel implementations of a finite difference simulator for the dynamic behavior of directional sucker-rod pumping wells that takes into account fluid flow inside the rod-tubing annulus are presented and analyzed. The performance and scalability of the implementations are compared. The results show that the parallel versions bring significant speed improvements over the serial versions in the majority of cases, and that the efficiency of the parallel versions scales along with problem size.
