This paper deals with modeling of miRNA-mediated control of gene transcription and its relevance concerning experiments involving plasmid transfection. We show that when such experiments are used as a base for model development, the model should include usual molecular players as well as plasmid products. Otherwise, the dynamics captured by the model might be much different form the dynamics of the processes it is supposed to capture.
