Training System for Embedded Wireless Communications

In this paper, an training system are designed for embedded wireless communications. The system is equipped with an advanced RISC machine (ARM) for the embedded system, and a field programmable gate array (FPGA) and three digital signal processors (DSP) for the software modem. By using our system, developers can implement not only various software modems by using the DSPs and FPGA, but also characterize various hardware and software architectures of the embedded Linux system. User-friendly graphic user interface (GUI) is also designed for examining orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) waveforms as well as M-PSK/M-QAM waveforms by choosing arbitrary values of Eb/N0.
