e-Learning platform, user activity, pattern, EM clustering method
We have developed an E-Learning platform that is currently used by more than 350 students. The main goal of the platform is to bring together professors and students in a collaborative environment managed by secretaries and supervised by an administrator. The software architecture is implemented as a scalable application due to using MVC (Model-View-Controller) paradigm. The user traffic on the platform in monitored and saved for off-line analysis. We employ clustering methods in order to find patterns of students. The final goal is to obtain a set of clusters such that each cluster contains students that have similar pattern of behavior. The obtained patterns are based on the performed activities of learners.
