Combined Version of Signal Position-based Adaptive QRD-M Algorithm with Other QRD-M Algorithms for MIMO System

Abstract

For MIMO systems, The QRD-M algorithm is a sub-optimal detection algorithm that achieves near-MLD performance with low complexity. In a previous work, we proposed a novel algorithm, termed signal position-based adaptive QRD-M, to solve a problem that some algorithms chose even paths that have unnecessarily low reliability as surviving paths. The algorithm can readily be combined with other QRD-M algorithms and get higher complexity reduction efficiency. In this paper, we present a combined version of the signal position-based adaptive QRD-M with the channel condition-based adaptive QRD-M to examine the combinability. Computer simulations demonstrate that the combined version achieves near-MLD performance with reduced complexity.
