Analysis on Streaming Electrification of Vegetable Oil Exposed to Accelerated Aging

Abstract

To prevent an oil-filled transformer accident, it is important to understand the streaming electrification. Streaming electrification occurs when the insulating oil passed though the duct of transformer, winding, insulating paper. In this paper, streaming electrification phenomenon was investigated by using serial device measurement apparatus. The accelerated aging oil samples were performed using sealed steel vessel methods. Accelerated aging was performed at 140℃ for 500, 1000, 1500 and 2000 hours. The Streaming electrification characteristics analysis of mineral and vegetable insulating oil at 20℃ ~ 80℃ and amount of BTA addition was about 5, 10, 30, 50 [ppm]. The important factors in the streaming electrification and the precautions for the static charge problem are discussed in this paper
