Simulation of Desulphurization of Synthesis Gas with Aspen Plus

Abstract

Clean energy is becoming more and more important in future economic and ecologic development. Synthesis gas produced with gasification of coal is becoming an increasingly more popular alternative to natural gas and oil. The article comprises simulation of H2S removal from acid synthesis gas with Rectisol process using Aspen Plus. Peng-Robinson thermodynamic method was chosen. Number of stages of absorber and striper was chosen and flow rate and temperature of chilled methanol was determined.
