Abstract

Sudden cardiac arrest is a major public health problem and Ventricular Fibrillation (VF) is the serious arrhythmic event in most of patients suffering from sudden cardiac arrest. Beside American Heart Association (AHA) recommends continuous cardiac massage (or chest compression) during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). However, according to AHA guidelines, repetitive interruptions of chest compression for rate analysis are required In this paper, we propose an extraction algorithm of the essential ECG wave which is derived by removing the effects of cardiac massage from the obtained ECG signal during CPR.
