Abstract

This paper presents a Lagrange relaxation based unit commitment method for combined thermal, solar and wind power generation. This method allows curtailment of the inexpensive solar and wind units if any of the constraints are violated, thus providing some degree of freedom to reach a feasible optimal solution. The proposed method is developed using MATLAB and is applied to a 10 unit test system.
