Abstract

This paper presents an integrated logistic study for offshore projects. In order to evaluate the fitness-for-purpose of a base logistic facilities of a multinational Company a preliminary study has been carried out. The model defined in this study can be easily updated by adding the logical flowcharts concerning the incoming material. A dedicated logistic model, in System Dynamics simulation, has been developed in order to simulate the material/personnel flow to and from the Base. The output of the simulation is a trend showing the demand and individuating the peaks in comparison with Base current capability. A sensitivity analysis on possible material demand variability has been carried out to determine the fitness-for purpose of the logistic facilities and to highlight possible need of contingency asset to avoid any shortage of material/personnel availability
