Abstract

the relationship among electricity consumption, economic growth and carbon emissions has played a key role in making effective energy management strategy. based on the time series analysis, the relationship was examined among electricity consumption, economic growth and carbon emissions in inner mongolia with adp unit root test and johansen multivariate cointegration. the causality by using granger causality test was tested on the basis of vector error correction model. it was proved that electricity consumption, economic growth and carbon emissions were second-order integration series from adf test; johansen multivariate cointegration test showed that there was a long-term equilibrium cointegration relationship among these three variables. the granger causality test also indicated that carbon emissions and economic growth, as well as electricity consumption and economic growth were granger causality of each other; and carbon emissions was granger causality of electricity consumption, but the converse was not true.
